Ag Days "100 Years of Sonoma County Bounty" at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds
School Tours Offered Two Days -
Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15, 2017
Take a one-stop tour of Sonoma County agriculture at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa. See “Agriculture in Action” through tours and displays from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Students will have the opportunity to see farm animals, crawl through a hay maze and learn more about the source of their food and fiber. They will talk to farmers and learn what it takes to raise plants and animals.
Displays and exhibits feature agriculture commodities and offer information and demonstrations about the exciting role agriculture plays in our modern lives and its value to Sonoma County’s economy and way-of-life.
Reservations are a must! Reservations can be made by completing the enclosed form and faxing to 544-7452 or mailing to Sonoma County Farm Bureau, 3589 Westwind Blvd., Santa Rosa, Calif. 95403.
Reservations are due no later than Feb. 24, 2017.
Every class completing a registration form will be guaranteed a visit to Ag Days on the date selected. Farm Bureau will notify each teacher by fax or e-mail that their registration form has been received.
Please provide a fax and e-mail address on the registration form. Additional information including parking and drop-off instructions will be sent after reservations close.

Student and Class Contests
Farm Bureau administers several different agriculture related contests for kids of all ages. Click on the link below to learn more about the contest and download an entry form.

Ag Education Teachers Contest
A top prize of $1,000 will be awarded to a teacher or group of teachers to fund the development of an agricultural and/or environmental education project at their school. To enter, teachers submit a proposal of 1-2 pages outlining a project currently being developed or a project that is envisioned for the education of their students. (Proposals are due Feb 17, 2017) These projects can include school gardens, nutrition education, soil health, beneficial insects, pollinators and other topics related to agriculture, food systems, conservation and the environment. Proposals can be generated individually or with a group of teachers from the same school.
Please join us as an exhibitor at Sonoma County Farm Bureau’s 2017 Ag Days celebration at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Your participation is important to the success of this exciting agricultural experience for urban school children. Last year, more than 6,000 students, teachers and parents attended Ag Days.

An event this size requires a small army of volunteers and we are seeking your help on March 13th for set up and March 14th and or 15th for the evnt. Volunteers also are needed for the Ag Days Awards Dinner on the evening of March 14th in the Grace Pavilion when we will honor the student winners in the Ag Days contests.

Sonoma County Farm Bureau invites your business to become a sponsor for Sonoma County Ag Days. Ag Days educates nearly 6,000 elementary age children, teachers and parents about the importance of agriculture and the value of local food production. Your sponsorship will be used to promote agricultural education, agriculture literacy, distribute agriculture in the classroom curriculum and provide for the venue for the event. Dinner Sponsor – $1,500 - As a dinner sponsor, your company will receive a full page ad in the awards dinner program. Farm Bureau will display your company banner at the dinner and you may elect to have a booth to promote your business. Your company name will be mentioned on the mic during the awards dinner. After the event your company name will be listed as a sponsor in Sonoma-Marin Farm News.
Premium Sponsor – $1,000 - As a premium sponsor, Farm Bureau will display your company banner at the event and you may elect to have a booth to share in the educational experience additionally, your company logo will appear in the awards dinner program. After the event your company name will be listed as a sponsor in the Sonoma-Marin Farm News.
Award Sponsor – $500 - As an award sponsor, your company name will appear in the awards dinner program. Your company name will be mentioned on the mic during the awards dinner. After the event your company name will be listed as a sponsor in Sonoma-Marin Farm News.
Silver Sponsor – $250 - As a silver sponsor, Farm Bureau will display your company banner at the event, your company name will appear in the awards dinner program. After the event your company name will be listed as a sponsor in Sonoma-Marin Farm News.
